Pekka Salonoja, Chairman

Pekka Salonoja is a highly respected Infocom professional, with a 20-year career in Nokia. Mr. Salonoja has held several key positions at Nokia, latest as Vice President and General Manager of Server Software Products at Nokia Mobile Phones, responsible for Nokia’s messaging and mobile internet server business with 650+ R&D and product management staff in Europe, US and China.

Having left Nokia in 2002 to pursue a new career in venture capital, Mr. Salonoja joined Nexit Ventures from Startupfactory, an early stage Nordic venture capital firm, where he worked as the Managing Partner of the company’s Finnish operations. Mr. Salonoja serves as a member of the board of several high-tech start-up ventures.

Mr. Salonoja holds a M.Sc. degree in electronics from the Helsinki University of Technology.

 

 

Matti Lainema, Member

Mr. Lainema has four decades of experience as a strategic process consultant for companies in basic industry, semi-finished products and capital goods industry as well as in the service and trade industries. In 1982 Mr. Lainema became a founding member and managing partner in a strategic consultancy company S.A.M.I. Oy and later he was made a partner in S.A.M.I. Ernst & Young Oy.

During his career, Mr. Lainema has consulted several Finnish corporate groups on the development of group structure and management systems. He has also headed development programs in several different businesses aiming at improving a company’s or division’s transformation capability and at increasing organisational efficiency.

Since 2001 Mr. Lainema has solely worked as an Independent, Non-Executive Director and a business writer.  His core expertise areas are corporate structure and corporate management and strategic development as well as issues related to strategic management and organisational changes. Corporate governance and especially strategic boards have been the main issues for Mr. Lainema’s research.

Mr. Lainema is a Chairman of the Boards of Axel Technologies Oy, Virvo Oy, Chat Republic Games Oy and Magisys Oy. He is also a member of various other Boards.

Mr. Lainema holds a D.Sc. (Econ.) degree from the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration.

Petri Kalske, Member

Petri Kalske (born 1973), the CEO and founder of Axel Technologies Oy, has a strong background in technology and communication business.At Axel Mr. Kalske is responsible for overall strategic and operational management of the company as well as new business development. Mr. Kalske is also a member of the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Kalske has been working in DVB technology area for nearly ten years and prior to that he held several positions in the field of communication, marketing and advertisement. The last seven years Mr. Kalske has worked in managerial positions, being accountable for business development, sales and project management.

Mr. Kalske studied Political Science (Major), Communications and Economics in the University of Turku. He has also accomplished additional studies in marketing and advertisement.
